Grandma Nancy’s Pound CakeSubmitted by: Alex PaulINGREDIENTS1 1⁄2 cups of butter (three sticks) 8 oz of package of cream cheese 3 cups of sugar6 large eggs1 1⁄2 tsp of vanilla extract 3 cups of flour1/8 tsp of saltNECESSARY UTENSILSRound angel food cake pan, mixerDIRECTIONS• Preheat oven to 300˚F.• Mix together the salt and flour in one bowl.• Beat the three so ened sticks of butter and eight ounces of cream cheesetogether in a large mixing bowl on medium speed until the mixture is even and creamy. Continue beating the mixture on medium speed while gradually adding the three cups of sugar(making sure each small dose of sugar is mixed completely before adding more sugar).• Add eggs one at a time while still beating the mixture on medium. (Again, make sure all of the yolk is mixed before adding the next egg). Add vanilla extract, mixing well.• Beating at low speed, gradually add the flour and salt mixture. Once the flour is mixed set the bowl aside.• Grease the inside of the angel food cake pan with butter or cooking spray and sprinkle a small amount of flour on the sides and bottom of the pan.• Pour the batter into the cake pan and spread evenly.• Bake cake for 1 hour or until the top is golden brown (if you place an ovensafe bowl filled with water next to the cake it keeps it moist.)• Let cake cool for 15 minutes, serve plain or top with strawberries andwhipped cream.DESSERTS171
